Manchester: Sunday mid-night, India continued its exceptional performance and yet again registered another world cup win against Pakistan. But, this match was even more overwhelming because Virat Kohli became only the third Indian and ninth cricketer in the history of Indian and world cricket to get to 11000 ODI runs after Sachin Tendulkar and Sourav Ganguly respectively.
Indian team dominated the entire match where we witnessed Rohit's breathtaking 140 runs innings. At the beginning of the match, captain Kohli was just 57 runs sort of the 11000 run mark. It was expected to have a captain's knock in such a soaring match. Virat did not disappoint their fans and achieved the landmark at Old Trafford, Manchester on Sunday.
Kohli became the fastest Indian cricketer to reach 11000 ODI runs as it took him only 222 innings to reach this milestone. Kohli achieved the target with a boundary off Hassan Ali’s ball in the 45th over.
We observe the best from the Indian captain when Pakistan play as an opponent as Kohli has played 12 ODIs against Pakistan in which he has scored 459 runs at an average of 45.90 with 183 runs, his highest ODI score. Moreover, he has scored 2 hundred and a fifty against the arch-rivals.
